Rules

  1. Lee Central Coast Newspapers Take Me Shopping Trivia Contest begins March 9, 2008 and ends May 2, 2008.
  2. No purchase or consideration is necessary to enter. Entry forms will be printed weekly from March 9th through April 27th 2008 in the Santa Maria Times and Lompoc Record.
  3. The sweepstakes are open to all legal residents of the United States. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of March 1st 2008. Employees of Lee Enterprises dba Lee Central Coast Newspapers, their parent or sister companies or any immediate family members are ineligible.
  4. Twenty-five winners will be drawn among correct entries at random for a total of 8 weeks. Weekly winners will receive $25 in gift cards from select area retailers.
  5. No substitutions or transfers of a prize by a winner are permitted.
  6. A winner assumes all risks and agrees that Lee Enterprises dba Lee Central Coast Newspapers and their affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies and employees have no liability in connection with the acceptance or use of the prize. A winner shall be solely responsible for all federal, state and local income and other taxes associated with the prize and for any insurance related to the use of any prize. This sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
  7. To enter the giveaway, complete the entry form with the correct answers. Only one (1) entry per person per week is permitted. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per envelope. Do not include checks, forms or letters with entry. Only original entry forms will be accepted. No copies or facsimiles of entry forms are permitted. Entry forms may be mailed to: Take Me Shopping Trivia Contest, Santa Maria Times, PO Box 400, Santa Maria, CA 93456. Lee Enterprises is not responsible for undelivered or delayed mail.
  8. Prize winners will be notified by telephone. Prize must be claimed in person at Santa Maria Times, 3200 Skyway Drive, Santa Maria, CA.
  9. By acceptance of any prize, a winner consents to the use of his or her name, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising or trade, without further compensations, unless prohibited by law.
  10. Decisions of the judges are final in all matters pertaining to Lee Central Coast Newspapers Take Me Shopping Trivia Contest. Judges reserve the right to withdraw the Trivia Contest or make changes at any time. Lee Enterprises in its sole discretion shall name any and all judges.
  11. As a condition to eligibility for any prize, a winner shall execute and return an affidavit and release by which he or she represents and covenants (a) that he or she has read and understood these Rules; (b) that he or she is bound by all of the provisions of these Rules; (c) that he or she will be solely responsible for all federal, state and local income and other taxes associated with the prize and for any insurance related to the use of the prize; and (d) that he or she will indemnify and hold harmless, Lee Enterprises dba Lee Central Coast Newspapers and any other prize sponsors, and their affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies and employees, from and against any liability (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) incurred by any of them as a result of or arising out of any breach of the foregoing representations or covenants.

  1. What is Take Me Shopping Trivia?
    Take Me Shopping Trivia is a sales flyer trivia contest. Readers must correctly answer five of the 10 trivia questions based on sales flyers inserted in the Sunday Santa Maria Times for a chance to win valuable gift cards to area retailers.
  2. How it Works:
    PLAY - An entry form with trivia questions based on the advertising inserts in that Sunday’s newspaper will be published in the Santa Maria Times each Sunday starting March 9 through April 27, 2008.
    CLIP - Participants clip out the entry form and answer any five of the 10 questions correctly. Entries are mailed to Attn: Take Me Shopping Trivia Contest, Lee Central Coast Newspapers, PO Box 400, Santa Maria, CA 93456 or dropped off to customer service at 3200 Skyway Drive, Santa Maria, CA.
    WIN - Entries are put in a drawing for that week’s $625 in gift cards. Twenty-five entries will be drawn each Friday.
  3. Entry forms:
    Each Sunday beginning March 9th through April 27th, 2008 an entry form with trivia questions will print inside the Santa Maria Times. No purchase necessary. Entry forms may be obtained in person or by mailing a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Santa Maria Times, Attn: Customer Service, PO Box 400, Santa Maria, CA 93456. Sales flyers from participating retailers will be available to review at the Santa Maria Times front desk. Sales flyers disbursements are limited to the amount published in the Santa Maria Times on the requested date. No photocopies of entry forms will be accepted.
  4. What if I did not receive a particular preprint?
    Copies of sales flyers will be available to review at the Santa Maria Times front desk. Sales flyers disbursements are limited to the amount published in the Santa Maria Times on the requested date.   5. Who can play?
    Any legal resident of the United States age 18 or older is eligible to play.
  6. Can employees play?
    Employees and immediate family of employees of Lee Enterprises are not eligible to play.
