SAN LUIS OBISPO 7 The Orcutt Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Star team put together a last-ditch rally to tie their winner/s-bracket game against San Luis Obispo in the District 6 Tournament on Monday, but couldn/t get that last run in a 7-6 loss.
Orcutt drops into tonight/s 7 p.m. loser/s bracket final, where they/ll face the winner of today/s Arroyo Grande-Santa Maria showdown.
SLO held a 6-2 lead going into the seventh, but two Orcutt singles sandwiching a hit batter loaded the bases, setting up a two-run double by Trevor Elswick to close the gap to 6-4. Scott Zimmerman, who had one of the early hits, scored on a wild pitch to make it 6-5, coming right before Kyle Noe/s RBI single scored Elswick to tie the game.
After a scoreless eighth inning, SLO/s Mark Farrar drove in the winning run with an RBI single.
