SACRAMENTO 7 There was quite a turn of events at the Tournament of Champions for Righetti softball pitcher Jenna Maiden Saturday.
"She was hit by a pitch against Clovis West in the second inning, and we had to pull her," Righetti coach Richard Cornejo said.

Then Maiden pitched a perfect game in the Warriors/ 8-0 win over Oak Ridge of Sacramento for third place.
The Warriors are 4-1.
After Maiden was hit, "We had to bring a pitcher in from the junior varsity, Lauren Batiste, because our other starter, Carissa Segura, is on a recruiting trip to La Salle," said Cornejo.
After the home run, "Jenna came in the third inning and shut /em down."
Cornejo said Clovis West was ranked 19th in California going into the game.
The Warriors routed the fifth-rated team in Northern California for third place. Righetti had 16 hits, and Maiden had two of those.
Krista Sua had two hits, including an RBI triple. Antoinette Hernandez doubled for one of her two hits. Tabitha Taylor and Kari Overholtzer also had two hits.
