The playoff pairings and final Top 10 poll results for girls volleyball and boys water polo were released Sunday by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section.
The girls volleyball playoffs get under way on Tuesday with 11 games involving Central Coast Schools.
The PAC-7 has four teams in the Division I-A playoffs.
Arroyo Grande, the No. 1 seed from the PAC-7, hosts Saugus, an at-large team from the Foothill League. Paso Robles, the PAC-7's No. 2 seed hosts Marlborough, the No. 2 team from the Sunshine League. Atascadero, the No. 3 team, heads to Marymount, the No. 1 team from the Sunshine League, and San Luis Obispo, the PAC-7 No. 4, heads to Dos Pueblos, the No. 1 team from the Channel League.
The Los Padres League also qualified four teams for the girls volleyball playoffs.
Santa Ynez earned the LPL's top seed. The Pirates host Paramount, an at-large team from the San Gabriel Valley league. Morro Bay, the LPL's No. 2, hosts Maranatha, the No. 3 team from the Olympic League. St. Joseph, No. 3 in the LPL, is on the road against Brentwood, the No. 2 team from the Olympic League. Templeton, the LPL's No. 4, heads to Warren, the San Gabriel Valley's No. 1.
The Coast Valley League has three teams that made the playoffs.
Shandon is the league's No. 1 and has a home game against Santa Clarita Christian, an at-large team from the Heritage League. Maricopa is the league's No. 2 seed with a home game against Boron, the No. 3 team from the Desert Mountain League. Coastal Christian, the league's No. 3 team, is on the road at Milliken Community School, the No. 2 team out of the Heritage League.
All playoff games are set to begin at 7 p.m.
Only two area teams made the final coaches' poll in girls volleyball; Arroyo Grande ended the regular season with the No. 8 ranking in Division I-A and Santa Ynez finished up in the No. 4 spot in Division IV-A.
The boys water polo playoffs kick off Tuesday with a wild card round.
Atascadero earned an at-large bid from the PAC-7. The Greyhounds head to Thousand Oaks Tuesday for the only wild card game in the Division IV playoffs.
The first round of the Division IV water polo playoffs will be held Thursday.
Arroyo Grande, the No. 1 seed from the PAC-7, hosts Downey, the No. 3 team from the San Gabriel Valley League. Righetti is the PAC-7's No. 2 seed. The Warriors host Peninsula, the No. 3 team from the Bay League. San Luis Obispo is on the road at Cerritos, the No. 1 team from the San Gabriel Valley League.
In Division VI, the first round of the playoffs will be played on Tuesday but Cabrillo, the No. 1 seed from the Los Padres League, gets the day off. The Conqs have a first round bye and open the playoffs against Walnut, the No. 1 seed from the San Antonio League, on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Santa Ynez, the LPL's No. 2, hosts Ocean View, the No. 3 team from the Golden West League. St. Joseph, the LPL No. 3, is on the road at Pacifica of Oxnard, the No. 2 team from the Pacific View League.
All games begin at 3:15 p.m.
Arroyo Grande and Righetti are the only local teams to earn Top 10 rankings in the final coaches' poll. Righetti was voted No. 8 and Arroyo Grande No. 9 in the final Division IV poll.
Playoff pairings for Tennis and 8-man football will be released Monday afternoon.
