Another day, another impressive outing for Valley Christian Academy freshman pitcher Christine Regalado.
Regalado is 2-0. VCA is 2-0 as well after Regalado struck out 14 batters in the Lions/ 11-0 home non-league win against Mission Prep of San Luis Obispo Tuesday.
Tuesday marked Regalado/s second straight double figure strikeout performance. She gave up just two hits, both singles, Tuesday.
Regalado helped herself Tuesday by belting an RBI triple. Her sister Cynthia, a junior, hit a two-run double.
Lara Hertzog gave Christine Regalado some more hitting support with an RBI triple. Cynthia Regalado went 2-for-3 for the Lions. Nancy Murphy was 2-for-4.
The Lions play a non-league game at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Coastal Christian of Arroyo Grande.

SAN LUIS OBISPO 7 Sophia Beltran/s double was about the only offensive highlight for the Saints (3-5) as the Tigers swept this non-league doubleheader 11-1, 2-0.
Serinna Uvalle pitched well in defeat for the Saints in game two, allowing six hits.
Santa Maria hosts Righetti in a doubleheader that starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Nipomo 15, Coast Union 5
NIPOMO 7 The Titans/ vctorious opener, a non-league game, was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
Nipomo pitcher Krystal Bozarth allowed three hits, and the Titans backed her with 13 of their own. Some of those included triples by Monica Gomez and Elise Sperakos and doubles by Kristina Sewell and Cameron Cline.
Nipomo plays a non-league doubleheader at San Luis Obispo that begins at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Dos Pueblos 5, Cabrillo 0
VANDENBERG VILLAGE 7 Dos Pueblos pitcher Kimi Wong throttled the Conquistadores (4-2). Natalia Martin had their only hit, a single.
Cabrillo plays a non-league game at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at San Marcos.
Baseball
Righetti 13, Santa Ynez 1
SANTA YNEZ 7 Righetti pitcher Ben Grover struck out 12 and dispatched the PIrates on just 79 pitches.
"He was unhittable," Righetti coach Eric Albright said. Well, almost. Grover gave up three singles and an unearned run.
Jimmy Mittelberger hit a two-run home run for the Warriors (3-2) in the second inning.
Dan Turner, Chris Mathews, Kyle Davis and Tim Trefts all doubled for Righetti, which plays at Nipomo at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in a non-league game.
Arroyo Grande 11, Cabrillo 4
ARROYO GRANDE 7 Gil Buenrostro hit a solo home run in the third, then Josh Mallory followed with a grand slam that same inning to power the Eagles (3-1).
Arroyo Grande (3-1) scored six runs in the third.
Isaac Simmons and Brian Stieber both went 3-for-4 for Cabrilo (2-3). Simmons scored two runs and drove in another. Lydell Sargeant doubled for the Conquistadores.
Arroyo Grande plays at St. Joseph at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Cabrillo plays at San Luis Obispo the same time and day. Both games are Central Coast Pre-season Tournament games.
Atascadero 7, Nipomo 4
ATASCADERO 7 The Titans managed just five hits and dropped this non-league games. Justin Robertson, Justin Scoggins and Samm Spears doubled for Nipomo.
Tennis
Santa Ynez 15, Nipomo 3
SANTA YNEZ 7 The Pirates/ doubles tandems of Erik Reif and Nick Keller, Garrett Gunning and Steve Sauer and Adam Stapp and Jose Navarro all swept their sets as the Pirates improved to 2-0 in the LPL and 4-3 overall.
Adam Peterson, Nipomo/s No. 2 singles player, swept his sets.
Lompoc 12, Cabrillo 6
VANDENBERG VILLAGE 7 Manuel Solorio, the Braves/ No. 1 singles player, sparked the visitors in this Lompoc Valley battle by not dropping a game as he swept three sets.
Lompoc/s doubles tandems of Sean Gunn and Gabe Sasmano, Pau Chang and Steven Heu and Adam Milholland and David Gaspar all won two of their three sets.
Brent Wilson, Cabrillo/s No. 2 player, won two of his three sets. Lompoc improved to 2-0 in the LPL and 4-0 overall.
Templeton 10, St. Joseph 7
TEMPLETON 7 The last match was called off because of darkness as St. Joseph dropped to 3-1 with the non-league loss
Monsoor Arain and Matt Pineda, the Knights. No. 2 doubles team, won two of their three sets.
Volleyball
Righetti 3, St. Joseph 1
The visiting Warriors took a 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20 non-league win to improve to 4-3.
St. Joseph dropped to 1-2.
Sean Gutierrez led Righetti with a match-high 18 kills. Shane Davis made 14. Charlie Sheaff led St. Joseph with 14 kills. Matt Segura had 11.
Golf
SJ 382, Lompoc 505
Medalist Ryan McConnell led the Knights to victory with a 72 at the Rancho Maria Golf Course.
The Knights won their Los Padres League opener.
Knights following McConnell were Bryan Woodruff (75), Marc Castillejo (77), and John Kuczkowski and Andy Lee, both of whom both shot 79.
Swimming
RHS boys 113, Cabrillo 54
CHS girls 123, RHS 44
At the YMCA pool, Righetti/s Greg McGilvray took the 200 yard freestyle in 1:59 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.3 to spark the Warriors.
McGilvary also swam the leadoff leg for Righetti/s victorious 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay.
Kaitlin Phillips won the 200 free in 2:06 and the 100 butterfly in 1:05.7 for Righetti. Cabrillo/s Becca Ur won the 100 free in 57 seconds and the 50 free in 26.6.
