A.G./s Amanda Voss leads PAC-5 honorees

Arroyo Grande had the best girls basketball team in the PAC-5 League. The Eagles also had the MVP.

Senior Amanda Voss claimed that honor. Senior Haylee Donaghe of Atascadero was the Defensive MVP.

Voss/s teammates Krista Simko and Haley Woeste made the First Team. So did Veronica Williams of Righetti, Hannah Donaghe (Hayley/s sister) of Atascadero and Brittany Santos of Paso Robles.

Hannah Donaghe is a freshman. The other first-team members are juniors.

Righetti seniors Lisa Nielsen and Jessica Ritz made the second team.

Atascadero won the boys basketball division of the PAC-5 League, and Greyhounds senior Mecklen Davis was the league MVP. Seniors Jesse Alvarez and Jon Wintermeyer of San Luis Obispo are the co-Defensive MVPs.

Wintermeyer, Aaron Boone of Righetti, J.D. Berwick of Atascadero, Derrick Jasper of Paso Robles and Darroll Phillips of Atascadero made the first team. Boone and Phillips are seniors. Berwick is a junior and Jasper is a sophomore.

Alvarez and senior teammate Kevin Shibata made the second team.

Arroyo Grande/s girls soccer team made it to the CIF Finals for the first time in school history. The Eagles lost 2-0 to top-seeded Walnut there, but Arroyo Grande senior Carla Arbulu was the league MVP.

San Luis Obispo won the league title because Arroyo Grande forfeited four PAC-5 games for inadvertently using an ineligible player.

The first team consisted of Erica Leger, Ruby Trejo and Karen Weatherby of Arroyo Grande; Apryl Sarellano of Righetti; Beca Ponce, Megan McMillan and Lauren Krumholz of San Luis Obispo; Kim Conlan and Sarah Erlanson of Atascadero; and LeAnn Nisby and Ashleigh Bertoni of Paso Robles.

Katie Dwyer of Righetti made the second team.

Bobby Petro of league champion Arroyo Grande was the PAC-5 boys soccer MVP. The first team consisted of Arroyo Grande/s Arturo Diaz, Salvador Gutierrez and Jonathan Greig; Ryan Zoradi, Chris Seitz and Daniel Irving of San Luis Obispo; Tim Trefts and Freddy Castanyera of Righetti; Todd Conte and John Deering of Atascadero; and Phil Vinke of Paso Robles.

Greg Ontell and Jesus Cortez of Righetti made the second team.

Lauren Smith of Arroyo Grande and Katy Zweifel of San Luis Obispo were the co-PAC-5 Girls Water Polo MVPs. The Eagles won the league championship.

Trina Bettencourt, Megan Boniface and Gretchen Vansteenwyk of Arroyo Grande, Claire Jacobson and Jasmine Touton of San Luis Obispo, Kelley Chafin and Gena McKeown of Atascadero and Jada Beasley of Righetti all made the first team.

Sisters Lydia and Lysa Lombard of Righetti made the second team.
