It is important American's know what their politician's are up to.
Recently, Congressman George Miller, a Democrat, blocked a bill by Republican John Campbell to open the canal waterways to central California's farm belt, because of a feud between them. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, has also blocked these bills seven times this summer.
You would think environmentalists would realize when generations of farmers and ranchers lose their property, it will be developed into cities, houses and condos demanding far more water than agriculture.
Why does this concern me? Because the Central Valley is a rich, fertile 400-square-miles of ag land that supplies 53 percent of California's food source, and 14 percent to the nation and third-world countries. This generates $2.5 billion in revenue yearly.
This forced drought impacts negatively 38 million people, creating a 40-percent unemployment rate.
Why should this concern America? Because America is going to import our food supplies from China, Mexico and other countries, the same as we now import our oil. This will generate higher food costs, with less quality and safety than American-produced.
