Arroyo Grande High School will be the permanent home of the Lucia Mar Unified School District?s brand new Culinary Arts Academy when it opens this fall.
Though Nipomo High School was in the running to host the academy, the school board voted this week in favor of Arroyo Grande.
Now that the board has selected the academy?s location, the district is free to pursue a ,3 million state grant to build a state-of-the art facility for the academy.
However, two kitchen portables set up on the Orchard side of the Arroyo Grande campus will serve as the academy?s temporary home until a permanent structure is built.
