An traffic accident today involving a school bus with children on board is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

No one was injured in the collision that occurred at the intersection of Grant and Vine streets and left a gray sedan wedged under the back bumper of the bus.

On board were eight special education students from the Santa Maria-Bonita School District, said Maggie White, district spokeswoman.

The children were from various schools within the district and were being taken home, she said. The district does not own the bus but contracts with Student Transportation of America.
