Two Buellton men were arrested Sunday in connection with a recent string of thefts of copper wire from the Santa Ynez water district.
Alix Richman, 46, was arrested at a home on Central Avenue Sunday morning after deputies with the Solvang substation served a search warrant. Also arrested was Glenn Dennis Goff, 55, who was also in the home, on suspicion of being under the influence of methamphetamine.
Deputies went to the Central Avenue home after witnesses called with information, said Sgt. Dan McCammon. Inside, officials found water meters, water meter components, copper cable, cable insulation and evidence that several hundred pounds of copper and brass had passed through the residence, he added.
Officials think more people may be involved and are continuing to investigate, McCammon said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Solvang substation at 686-5000.
BAs always the Santa Barbara County Sheriff?s Department needs the public to be part of resolving criminal activity,C McCammon said. BIn this case the entire community certainly has benefited from the people who have decided to become involved and share their observations of suspicious activities with us.C
