Starting in June, travelers will be able to catch direct flights out of the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport to Salt Lake City, where multiple connections to other cities are available.

The new regional jet service will begin June 11, from San Luis Obispo with two daily nonstop flights on 50-seat planes. The service will be offered by Skywest Airlines, which is operated by Delta airlines.

The new flights are scheduled to depart from San Luis Obispo at 6:15 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. and scheduled to arrive in San Luis Obispo from Salt Lake City International Airport at 11:55 a.m. and 9:50 p.m., according to airport staff.

Salt Lake City International Airport provides numerous new one-stop connections, including to the Pacific Northwest, Canada and points east, and also provides a destination for county residents.

Additionally, Salt Lake City is the only Delta hub to offer customers year-round service to Alaska.

With its latest additions, Delta and the Delta Connection carriers will offer customers service to more than 330 worldwide destinations this June 7 more than any other global airline, said a Delta spokesman
