Alleged gang-related fight injures three
Two boys with stab wounds showed up at Marian Medical Center Friday night, the Santa Maria Police Department reported.
The boys were reportedly two of three people stabbed in the 600 block of West Taft Street during an altercation believed to have been gang-related, police said.
The two boys' back injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said, and the third victim has not been found.
The pair went to the hospital a short time after officers responded to the stabbing about 9:45 p.m.
Witnesses reportedly said that three people were stabbed during a fight in the driveway of a residence. The suspects and victims were not at the scene when officers arrived.

Deadline for tax rebate approaching
Wednesday is the deadline for many retirees and disabled veterans to file the Form 1040A income tax return to receive an economic stimulus payment this year.
In California, 499,104 potential recipients remain, including 5,977 in Santa Barbara County, of which 1,715 are from Santa Maria and 697 are from Lompoc, according to Victor Omelczenko, IRS spokesman in Los Angeles.
“Some retirees and disabled veterans who normally do not file a tax return may be eligible and not know it,” Omelczenko said. “If you know of someone who might qualify, help them by going to the IRS Web site at
www.irs.gov.”
The Form 1040A with instructions can be downloaded from
www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/k1040a3.pdf.
A return can also be prepared by going to
