The Lipizzaner Stallions performed their unique equestrian ballet - music, choreography and routines by horses and riders - Wednesday night for the first of two shows planned in Santa Maria.
The second performance starts at 7:30 tonight at the Santa Maria Fairpark, at Thornburg Street and Stowell Road. Regular admission adult tickets cost $19.50. Discounts are available for children 12 and under and seniors 60 and over.

The Lipizzaner Stallions are in the midst of their 38th Anniversary Tour, which emphasizes the historical background and foundation of the Lipizzaner breed, first used as a war horse, later used for nobility and aristocracy and finally serving as a living form of equestrian art.
After they leave Santa Maria, the Lipizzaners will head to San Luis Obispo for three more performances over the next two days. Performances will be at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alex Madonna Expo Center, behind Madonna Inn, 100 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo.
They will return to Santa Barbara later this month to perform at Earl Warren Showgrounds, 3400 Calle Real, in Santa Barbara, at 7:30 p.m. July 15 and July 16.
San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara regular admission adult tickets are $22.50 each. Discounts are available for children 12 and under and seniors 60 and over.
