The first of this rodeo weekend's two country music performances hit the stage Friday night when Mark Chesnutt performed at the Santa Maria Elks/Unocal Event Center, before the night's rodeo action began.

Chesnutt's new album, “Rollin' with the Flow,” is set to be released June 24 and has two songs co-written by him.

Another country act, the Drew Davis Band, will perform at noon today at Broadway and Stowell Road during the Santa Maria Street Fair, which marks its fifth year of family activities at the end of the rodeo parade.

The band's debut album, by Loften Creek Records, released this spring includes songs such as the haunting heartbreaker “How do I,” “Everything or Nothing” and “Dirty Blonde Bombshell.”

The Street Fair on Broadway between Enos Drive and Stowell Road - the end of the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Parade route - will be packed with food, games, music and fun for the whole family.

The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include all-terrain vehicles and a rock wall that can be climbed.

In another area, traditional Latino music will be played and authentic Mexican food will be available.
