Rouleau, Berryman garner LPL's top baseball honors

Coach Jim Allen's Lompoc Braves are the Los Padres League baseball champions for the third consecutive time, and Braves grabbed the top two LPL honors.

Juniors Dalton Rouleau and Cody Berryman are the league's MVP and Outstanding Pitcher, respectively.

The All-LPL first team consists of: Santa Ynez pitcher Sean Rowan; infielders Chris Mallory of Lompoc, Zach Pecyna of Cabrillo, and J.P. Maestas of St. Joseph; infielder-pitcher Cody Keller of Morro Bay; outfielders Chase Yost of Santa Ynez, Andrew Clark of Santa Maria and Ben Terry of Templeton; outfielder-pitchers Ryan McKellar and Matt Hartin of St. Joseph, and Aaron Naputi of Cabrillo; Santa Ynez catcher Evan Soliman; and Lompoc designated hitter Daniel Mallory.

The second team consists of: catcher Scott Aguailar, infielder Brandon Alonzo and outfielder Kevin Erickson of Lompoc; infielder Jacob Cano of St. Joseph; pitcher Jordan Sechler of St. Joseph; outfielder Joel Ibarra and pitcher Todd Whitmore of Santa Ynez; pitcher Brian Engler and outfielder David Fraatz of Cabrillo; and infielder-pitcher Jacob Peterson of Morro Bay, infielder Joseph Beltran of Santa Maria, and pitcher Collin McRoy of Templeton.

Infielders Richie Hirzel of Lompoc, Tyler Lowry of Santa Ynez and Ryan McGinty of Cabrillo, along with St. Joseph pitcher Jeff Smith and Santa Maria catcher Robert Rodriguez, were all honorable mention.

Santa Ynez and St. Joseph's boys were LPL co-champions in tennis. Santa Ynez swept the MVP awards. Junior Juan Ferrer was the MVP in singles. Senior Curtis Cole and freshman Miles Seeman formed the MVP doubles tandem.

The co-champions dominated the first and second-team selections.

Jake Eszes of St. Joseph, Alex Jensen of Lompoc and Daniel Borcherding of Santa Maria were the first team singles players. Kji Hamill and Samuel Orozco, and Broderick Cooper and James Xing of St. Joseph, along with Brandon Mann and Austin White of Santa Ynez, were the first team doubles pairs.

St. Joseph's Joseph Fischer Ortiz and Rafael Ferreira were the second team singles players. The second team doubles pairs consisted of Eric Okerblom and Brian Turton of St. Joseph, Jackson Jewett and Cody Delunas of Santa Ynez and Andrew Shewell and Ryan Anderson of Cabrillo.

Mason Van Valin of Santa Ynez, Eric Wang of Cabrillo, Santa Maria's Cory Zleisy, Anthony Yang of Lompoc and Templeton's Jeff Eisemann were all honorable mention.

Santa Ynez has never lost a Los Padres League volleyball match, and two Pirates are the league's MVPs. They are Jon Bridgeman and Zach Ulrick.

The All-League first team consisted of hitters Greg Young, Andrew Wolinsky and Sean Floyd of Santa Ynez and Patrick Cruden of St. Joseph; middle blockers Trevor Jaeckels of St. Joseph and Del Hopkins of Morro Bay; and Morro Bay setter Andrew McTaggart.

The second team consisted of: setters Sean Gibilisco of St. Joseph and Juan Macias of Santa Maria; hitters Brannon Adlesh of St. Joseph, Dakota McInty of Santa Ynez, Pedro Burton of Morro Bay and Andrew Baeza of Santa Maria; back row player Marcos Cromack of Santa Ynez; and Santa Ynez opposite hitter Jordan Punek.

Hitters Timothy Jackson of Santa Maria and Colby Lippencott of Santa Ynez, along with middle blocker Taylor Merlo of St. Joseph, were all honorable mention.

Pitcher Kat Hicks led Templeton to the LPL softball title. She is the league's MVP.

The first team consisted of: Kailey Snyder, Caitlin Voss and Mariah Cochiolo of St. Joseph; Kim Dauer, Cori Gacad and Claire Hoose of Morro Bay; Jeana Carrillo and Leanna Cobral of Lompoc; Jill McClelland, Kristina Barckley and Kari Chambers of Templeton; and Alyssa Abayari of Cabrillo.

The second team consisted of: Dana Campitelli, Lauren Lopes and Courtney Dosa of Lompoc; Kelly Brown and Lindsie Holloway of Cabrillo; Katie McNulty, Alexa Sanders and Melissa Armero of St. Joseph; and Cori Ford and Breanan Selzer of Templeton.

Earning honorable mention were Shelby Kuhlman of Cabrillo, Paty Martinez of Lompoc, Sabrina Hammerlund of Morro Bay, Alyssa Guiterrez of Santa Maria, Katrina Gode of Santa Ynez, Michaela Valencia of St. Joseph and Haley Mosher of Templeton.
