FieldTurf the centerpiece of St. Joseph stadium renovation:
St. Joseph High Schools new FieldTurf football surface was installed Wednesday at the Knights' Al Maguire Field. Before the new turf was put down, workers had to sew together the two gigantic pieces that make up the playing surface then they unfolded it and stretched it tight. Athletic Director Dave Brunell says the stadium renovation project is “moving along ahead of schedule.” The new surface gets its first game test on Friday, Sept. 5, when the Knights scrimmage Santa Barbara High School. St. Joseph's first home game of the 2008 football season with be Friday night, Sept. 19 against Paso Robles.
