Macagni just doing her job In regard to the person who wrote about the controversies at the Santa Maria Cemetery and the Macagnis, it is only obvious that things ran well for 20 years because the board members were not doing their jobs and finally someone - namely Mrs. Macagni - tried doing her job by asking questions and trying to do what board members are suppose to do. I attended a board meeting and witnessed Mrs. Macagni ask Mrs. McBroom why the board isn't reviewing payroll, and she was told that was confidential. How can anything be confidential to a board member? What are they afraid she is going to find out? I have also attended two services at the cemetery in the last year, and an example of how they are not doing their job is the condition of the broken, dirty canopies and chairs, held down with bungee cords. Not to mention almost breaking my ankle walking across the uneven lawn. So, Mrs. Macagni, please let them know when you find out just where the money is going. Certainly not to the upkeep and improvements of the cemetery. Debra Parks Santa Maria May 16, 2008 |
