Nipomo's baseball team made five errors Wednesday, and San Luis Obispo's squad made the Titans pay.

San Luis Obispo rolled to a 7-2 PAC-7 League victory on the penultimate day of the regular season. The regular season ends Friday.

The Tigers (13-4 PAC-7) stayed a half game behind Paso Robles in the title chase. Nipomo fell to 4-13 in the PAC-7 and 11-14 overall.

Neither Nipomo run scored on a base hit. Eddie Chavarria scored on a wild pitch in the second inning. Mason Sperakos was plunked by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth.

Losing pitcher Joe Delfin was 2-for-3 for Nipomo. Chavarria tripled. Robbie Nadalsky, Darren Mullen and Dan Howell all had two hits for Nipomo.

The Titans finish their season with a 4:30 p.m. game at San Luis Obispo Friday.

St. Joseph's Maddie Mastrup, Erica Brannon and Jeremiah Palmerston all qualified Tuesday for “A” Finals that will take place today at the Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach.

Mastrup is the top seed for the girls 500-yard freestyle. She swam 5:11.73 in the preliminaries at Belmont Plaza Tuesday. She is seeded fourth in the 200 freestyle with a prelims time of 2:01.81.

Brannon is seeded fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:02.15) and eighth in the 100 backstroke (1:01.89). Palmerston is seeded sixth in the boys 200 individual medley (2:01.80) and eighth in the 100 freeestyle (49.30).

Cabrillo's girls 200 medley relay and boys 200 freestyle relay squads are both seeded seventh. The girls medley quartet of Sarah Murar, Ashlea Coski, Cassandra Fox and Katherine Vega qualified in 2:01.28. The boys 200 foursome of Patrick Robinson, Kody Ogan, Greg Herrera and Wesley Hain qualified in 1:34.86.

Track and Field - CIF Central Section Sierra-Sequoia Championships

EXETER - Jordan Hasay cruised to a pair of wins at Exeter High School.

The Misison Prep junior and Arroyo Grande resident took the girls 1,600 meters race in 4:58 and the 3,200 in 10:44. Both times were unofficial. Hasay was scheduled to run in the 1,600 relay, but she said in a phone interview that she did not end up doing so.

Next up for the five-time national champion (thrice cross country, twice track and field) is the CIF Central Section Championships at Bakersfield Liberty High School next Wednesday.

She said that she “probably won't double,” in the state meet. “I'll probably stick to the 3,200,” Hasay said. She is the two-time defending state champion in that race.

Whether or not she runs the 1,600 next Wednesday, “Depends on how I recover,” she said.
