Car exhaust suspected in fires
An unidentified vehicle, likely one with a bad catalytic converter, managed to ignite between 10 and 14 grass and brush fires between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay along the side of Highway 1, according to Cal Fire.
The fires began just before 6:30 p.m., rousing the attention of seven fire engines and a fire investigator. Several of the fires were within Morro Bay, and burned a total of one-quarter acre, according to reports.
