Clayton Connolly of Century 21 Hometown Realty in Pismo Beach has been named 2007 Realtor of the Year by the Pismo Coast Association of Realtors, said Stephanie Pipan, association president.
Pipan said Connolly's “tireless efforts on behalf of the community, the association and its members” were the main reasons he was chosen for the honor.
Connolly obtained his real estate license in 2004 and quickly began helping the association with membership projects and fundraising events, she said.
In addition to serving buyers and sellers in the Five Cities area, he is also a musician, playing locally with the J.D. Hardy Band and serving as a pianist for the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre.
“Being awarded Realtor of the Year is an honor,” Connolly said. “But the bigger reward is in working with my neighbors, clients and colleagues to enhance our community.”
Connolly was born and raised in Lake Arrowhead, where he ran both a music studio and a firewood business, all the while competing as an extreme snow boarder.
He holds a bachelor of arts degree in music composition from California State University, San Bernardino.
Connolly and wife Jessica, daughter Kairah and dog Kobe moved to the Central Coast following the loss of their home in the 2003 wildfire in the Lake Arrowhead area.
He was named the 2004 Rookie of the Year and a multimillion-dollar producer in 2005-06 for Century 21 Hometown Realty.
He is currently a member of the Shell Beach Improvement Group.
Connolly and his wife host the annual fundraising “Best In Shell,” a neighborhood dog show in Shell Beach that has raised several thousand dollars on behalf of local beneficiaries.
An active member of the Vineyard Church, he's also currently composing an album of children's music.
The Pismo Coast Association of Realtors is the organization for more than 850 licensed real estate professionals and professional affiliates in the Five Cities area.
The association conducts a wide range of professional advisory and oversight functions as well as charitable activities through the Pismo Coast Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation Inc.
