Group effort for the animals

I am a volunteer with the Central Coast Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Being a member of a nonprofit organization that relies solely on volunteers, I am amazed at the support we receive from our community.

Recently, I received a call from Jeannine Wade, president of the Central Coast SPCA, saying she received a call about a cat that had been stuck in a tree for a week, and did I have any ideas of whom we could call to rescue it. I called a friend who has a tree-care business, and they were more than happy to come and help rescue this helpless cat.

I would like to thank David Farrell of Farrell's Tree Care for being a hero to that cat and to our organization. He and his wife Jill, said to call them anytime we need help rescuing an animal.

I would also like to thank Saturn of Santa Maria for always sponsoring us when we ask for their help with our fund-raisers. Also, Jennifer Campa with Prudential California Realty was a big sponsor at our most recent fund-raiser. Cielito Lindo, Taco Roco and La Hacienda restaurants all donated food for our Family Reunion fund-raiser last month. Without you we wouldn't be able to rescue and protect the animals of the Central Coast.
