Lompoc man injured at The Graduate

A 31-year-old man from Lompoc suffered serious head injuries when he was assaulted early Saturday at The Graduate, 990 Industrial Way.

The man, Ramiro Cisneros, was found unconscious shortly after 2 a.m., San Luis Obispo Police said.

Several people assaulted the victim, kicking him in the head and body after he had been knocked

to the ground, police said.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, and discharged about 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Police are still investigating the incident.

Orcutt

Parents invited to district presentation

All parents are invited to attend “End the Homework Hassle,” a parent night hosted by the Orcutt Union School District and Santa Maria Valley Council of PTAs on Oct. 11 at Dunlap School, 1200 Oak Knoll Road in Orcutt.

The presentation, scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Dunlap cafeteria, will give parents advice on solving a range of homework problems.

Attendees will have the opportunity to analyze their children's homework issues, and they will receive practical ideas and handouts on how to help their children be successful with homework.

The presenters will be Joe Dana, principal of Ralph Dunlap School, and Kathleen Stevenson, president of the Santa Maria Valley Council of PTAs. Both are parents of school-aged children.

Free childcare will be available for children ages 2-12. To reserve a spot, call the Dunlap School office, 938-8500.




Los Alamos

Motorcyclist injured on Highway 101

A motorcyclist was injured in a crash on the Highway 101 on-ramp in Los Alamos on Saturday night, according to reports.

The wreckage blocked the on-ramp, while emergency crews tended to the injured person.

No other details were available late Saturday night.
