The Clark Center for the Performing Arts in Arroyo Grande invites the public to celebrate New Orleans culture with BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet at 8 p.m. Sept. 29.

BeauSoleil starts with traditional ingredients — waltzes and two-steps, Cajun French lyrics, fiddle licks and accordion — and then spices them up with blues, ballads, Medieval French dance tunes, New Orleans R&B and earlier Cajun forms.

The group has packed dance-floors around the globe for more than 20 years and has more than 20 recording projects to its credit, including award-winning movie soundtracks, and garnered nine Grammy nominations before winning Grammy gold in 1997 for Best Traditional Folk Album with “L’amour ou la Folie.”

The band has also appeared on major television and radio shows.

Tickets for BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet cost $28 to $38, and are on sale now. Call 489-9444 for tickets or stop by the Clark Center Box Office at 487 Fair Oaks Ave. in Arroyo Grande.

For information or to purchase tickets online, visit the Clark Center Web site at www.clarkcenter.org.
