Crash victim identified as Solvang woman

Kathleen Frances Morrelli of Solvang has been identified as the driver killed Thursday morning in a crash at the intersection of Highways 154 and 246 near Santa Ynez.

Morrelli, driving a 2000 Toyota Celica, was eastbound on Highway 246 and turning right onto southbound Highway 154 when her car drifted onto a gravel portion of the shoulder. Morrelli lost control of the car and went down an embankment, according to the CHP.

She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, landing about 40 feet from it, CHP added. The vehicle and the woman landed on the San Lucas Ranch property.
