Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a Nipomo man — who is considered armed and dangerous — after he allegedly fled from a methamphetamine lab found Monday on Oleary Canyon Way, near Suey Creek Road, southeast of Nipomo.
Mario Estrada Salas, 31 — described as 5-foot-5, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes — is believed to be in the Nipomo or Santa Maria area and is reportedly carrying a handgun, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department said this morning.
Salas was seen running with a handgun away from the area where a meth lab in the 7800 block of Oleary Canyon Way was found at 4:20 p.m. Monday, said department spokesman Sgt. Brian Hascall.
Deputies searched the area but did not find Salas, Hascall said.
After he fled, Salas allegedly burglarized a home and took a handgun and cash, Hascall said.
The Sheriff’s Methamphetamine Enforcement Team found 2.5 ounces of meth and 18 marijuana plants at the lab, he said.
