NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

On 2/14/07 the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services will release an RFP. This RFP seeks proposals from bidders who are capable of providing In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) to Santa Barbara County residents who may be: aged, blind and/or disabled. IHSS allows these residents to remain safely in their own homes. Without this assistance, many of the residents served by the program would be forced to live in an institutional setting.

Contract term: July 1st, 2007 through June 30, 2008, with a one-year

renewal option. Proposals must be submitted by 1:00pm, Wednesday 3/28/07, and will be opened at 1:00 pm. NOTICE OF INVITING BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lucia Mar Unified School District (hereinafter referred to as “Owner”) will receive up to, but no later than 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, sealed bids for the award of:

BID PROPOSAL NO. 04543 AND NO. 06591

ARROYO GRANDE HIGH SCHOOL- TENNIS COURT AND RENOVATION PHASE 3

Bids shall be made on the forms furnished by the Owner. Bids Documents may be obtained from the Facilities Department 321 West Cherry Street- Arroyo Grande, CA for a refundable deposit of $150.00. Please contact Anne Peterson at (805) 474-3000 Ext. 1032 for more information, including availability of the Bid Documents and mailing costs. Bids shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time. Faxed Bid Documents will not be accepted.

SPECIAL NOTE: This bid proposal requires attendance at the following pre-bid conference where a site-walk will be conducted: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Facilities Office- 321 West Cherry Street- Arroyo Grande, CA 93420.

Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier’s check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the Owner in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Total Bid Price, as stated in the Bid Documents. Contractors shall comply with PCC 4108 with respect to subcontractor bond requirements.

Pursuant to B&P Code 7028.15 and PCC 3300, Contractors shall possess the following California Contractor’s license(s) in order to perform the Work: General Contractor-Class B. Subcontractors must possess the appropriate licenses for each specialty subcontracted. Bidders are advised that this Contract is a public work for purpose of the California Labor Code, which requires payment of prevailing wages. Owner has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rates, and will place them on file at the Owner’s office and make them available to any interested party upon request. Pursuant to PCC 22300, the successful Contractor may substitute securities equivalent to monies withheld by the Owner.

In accordance with Education Code Section 17076.11, the Owner has a DVBE participation goal of at least three percent (3%) per year of the required state funds. Bidders are encouraged to seek and include DVBE participation. Prior to, and as a condition precedent for, final payment under this Contract, the contractor will be required to provide documentation to the Owner identifying the amounts paid to DVBE’s in conjunction with this Contract.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid, and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective Bids received. No bidder may withdraw his/ her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening bids.

By order of this Court you re hereby advised that you may appear before the Judge presiding in Division of this Court on 11/17, 2006 at 1:30 p.m., then and there to show cause, if any you have, why SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA should not be declared free of the custody and control of her natural father, for the purpose of freeing SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA for adoption.

The following information concerns the rights and procedures which relate to this proceeding for the termination of custody and control of SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA as set for in Family Code Section 7860.

1. At the beginning of the proceeding, the Court will consider whether or not the interests of SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA require the appointment of counsel. If the Court finds that the interests of SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA do require such protection, the Court will appoint counsel. SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA will not be present in Court unless she so requested or the Court so orders.

2. If a parent of SALINE MARISA SERNA and SELESTE MARIE SERNA appears without counsel and is unable to afford counsel, the Court must appoint counsel for the parent, unless the parent knowingly and intelligently waives the right to be represented by counsel. The court will not appoint the same counsel to represent the minors and their parent(s).

3. The Court may appoint either the public defender or private counsel. If private counsel is appointed, he or she will receive a reasonable sum for compensation and expenses, the amount must be paid by the real parties in interest, but not by the minor, in such proportions as the Court believes to be just. If, however, the Court finds that any real parties in interest cannot afford counsel, the amount will be paid by the County.

4. The Court may continue the proceeding for not more than thirty (30) days as necessary to appoint counsel and to enable counsel to become acquainted with the case.
