JOAN E. CLARK, 72, of Santa Maria, passed away January 4, 2006. Arrangements are in the care of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home and Cremation Services. JERRY SUMMERS, 74, of Arroyo Grande, passed away, Sunday, January 1, 2006. Arrangements are in the care of Lady Family Mortuary and Crematory of Arroyo Grande. MARJORIE GRENSTED, 99, former Five Cities area resident, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. BETTY BRASHER, 70, former Central Coast resident, passed away Friday, December 30, 2005, in Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. DEGREGORIO Age 80 passed away December 3l, 2005 in a local Santa Maria Hospital. He was born August l0, l925 in Hoboken, New Jersey wher he was raised until l938 when he and his family returned to Italy. With the outbreak of World War II he was unable to leave Italy. After the war , in l945 Arnold returned to New Jersey. In l950 he entered the U.S.Army and served in Korea where he fought in numerous engagements, including Pork Chop Hill. He received numerous awards and citations prior to discharge in October l952. He then worked for Pan American Airlines for over 20 years. He moved to Santa Maria in l990. Arnold always enjoyed fishing and loved to travel. He is survived by a sister Maria Bruno of Rome, Italy and a niece Elvira Bruno also of Rome, Italy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary with Father Mark Newman of St. Louis DeMontfort Catholic Church officiating. Services will be followed by cremation with inurnment to be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Vicenta Delfin, 69 years young of Santa Maria, passed away peacefully surrounded by all her family that loved her dearly. Vicenta was born in Michoacan, Mexico, but was raised in Mexicali B.C. Mexico, where she met and married the love of her life, Antonio Delfin. They were married for fifty-two (52) years before he passed away in June 2003. After marrying, they moved to Nipomo, California, in 1972 and eventually moved to Santa Maria in 1993. Our Ma Vicenta (Mom & Grandma) will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She was a kind and loving mother and a very special grandmother and great grandmother to all her mijas and mijos. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered by the many wonderful memories we have captured in our hearts and minds. Ma, you are finally in peace and no longer suffering, even more so, you are now with our Heavenly Father Our Lord and Pa Tono (your husband). We love and miss you now and forever, you mean the world to ALL of us and will always remain the foundation of our lives! Ma Vicenta is survived by her five (5) daughters: Maria and husband Alberto Sanchez, Irma and husband Ubaldo Hernandez, Isabel and husband Jorge Zamora, Yolanda Delfin and Anna Delfin. Also her daughter-in-law, Teresa Delfin, all of Santa Maria. She is also survived by her sons: Jose Delfin of Amarillo, Texas and Miguel Delfin of Nipomo. Sisters: Teresa Rodriguez and Serafina Zamora of Calexico, brothers: Luciano, Alfonzo and Pedro Zamora of Mexicali B.C. Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews. She has thirty-four (34) grandchildren and twenty-eight (28) great-grandchildren, who ALL love you Ma with all our hearts and souls! She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Antonio Delfin, June 11, 2003, and son Jesus Delfin, July 1, 1989, her parents Pedro and Esperanza Zamora and three brothers and one sister. Visitations will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. officiated by preacher and son-in-law Ubaldo Hernandez from the Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Setty, Dr. Draual and Dr. Hefter and to ALL the wonderful nurses at the CCU at Marian Medical Center for all their love, care, understanding and attention they provided to our Ma Vicenta during her stay there. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 9, and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel. Lia was born in Castelletto, Italy, on May 22, 1923. On January 13, 1942, she graduated from San Pedro High School and was briefly employed at Autonetics in Anaheim. She retired to Arroyo Grande in 1984, where she was a member of St. Patricks Church. Lia enjoyed sewing, bowling and raising her three young children. She also enjoyed traveling in the family motor home with the Space Bugs of Santa Maria. Lia is survived by her husband of 61 years, William H. Bowen; three sons, William and wife, Geraldine, of Thousand Oaks, Robert and wife, Cynthia, of Fallbrook, and Jeffrey and wife, Debra,, of Artesia; six grandchildren, Susan, Leslie, Tyler, Tiffany, Tammy and Rachael; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caesar and Antonia Brighenti. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.
Mitzi was born October 12, 1952, in Los Angeles. A graduate of San Diego State University, she enjoyed working with Certified Folder Display and with her many clients along the Central Coast. She loved warm beaches and her sons sporting events. Her passion for life and kind heart will be missed by all who knew her. Mitzi is survived by her mother, Dorothy Landgraf; husband, Mark Wendler; son, Drew; and sisters, Beverly Cain and Heidi Davis. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudy Landgraf. Erning PERALTA 1942-2005 He was born August 25, l942 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippine Islands, where he was raised. He has worked in construction for over 40 years, primarily as a heavy equipment operator. Erning moved the United States in l993 and went to work for Pic-sweet for 2 years and then worked for J. Ferriol Construction for over 9 years. He always loved fishing, cooking and helping friends in need. He is survived by sisters and brother-in-laws, Leoni & Serafino Lagua and Antonia & Albert Efondo of Santa Maria. Two sisters and two brothers also survive in the Philippine Islands. Close friends Norma & Victorino Rasalan and Matt & Cora Lagua of Santa Maria, two nephews, Jon Lagua of Garden Grove, CA and Sherwin Lagua of the U.S. Navy, San Diego, CA and one niece, Jessica Efondo of Santa Maria. Numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive in the United States and the Philippine Islands. A Vigil rosary service will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2006 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and a funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at 9:00 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Riz Carranza officiating. Services will be followed by Cremation with inurnment to be at a later date in the Philippine Islands. Visitations will be on Friday from 3 - 8 pm.
